Hazrat Mohammad's صلى الله عليه وسلم life before Islam is very impressive.
When Hazrat Mohammad(peace be upon him) reached 15 years old, he participated in a battle. It is called the battle of Fijjar. It was named Fijjar because it was fought in a sacred month. There are four sacred months. Killing in the sacred months is forbidden. And fijjar is an Arabic word which means disobedient. This battle was between Quraysh and Bani qais. Hence, Quresh was right but hazrat Mohammad (peace be upon him) did not participate in the killing. He only handed over arrows to his uncles.
Half al Fazool
Half al Fazool was a sacred and great agreement that was for peace. This was held in Abdullah bin Jida’an's house.
Its convener was Zubair bin Abdul Mutallib, uncle of hazrat Mohammad (peace be upon him). The reason was that one merchant came from the Yemeni city, Zubaid, for trading. Aas bin Waayl purchased all the luggage but refused to pay the amount. That Merchant asked all the tribes but there was no one who had dared to ask Aas bin Waayl. So he climbed up Mountain Abu Qubais and read sad poetry. Listening to him, Hazrat Zunair bin Abdul Mutallib took action in his favour and talked to his companion tribes. All of those tribes gathered in Abdulla bin Jadhaan's house and made an agreement that,
“By God, we will all unite with the oppressed against cruelty like a hand till we will not take right from cruelty, we will not sit in peace”.
This agreement was named Half al Fazool. Then they took his rights from Aas bin Waayl.
Hazrat Mohammad, peace be upon him, said about this agreement,
“ I participated in such an agreement at the house of Abdullah bin Jada’an that I dont like red camels because of that” ( Mukhatsir seerat e rasool page 47)
Trade
When Hazrat Mohammad صلى الله عليه وسلم was young, his interest was in trading but he had no money. In Makkah there was a widow, a very rich woman who was a merchant. She used to invest her money in trading. When she heard about Hazrat Mohammad's truthful nature and fair dealing in business, she requested him to take his luggage for selling. Through this trading he got more profit. On this journey a servant of hazrat Khadija Mesra was with him. He told Hazrat Khadija about Hazrat Mohammad’ s good qualities and fair dealing in business. Hazrat khadija expressed his wish to marry Hazrat Mohammad through her maid. So Hazrat Mohammadصلى الله عليه وسلم married Hazrat Khadija.
